Tillamook White Cheddar Grilled Cheese

Tillamook White Cheddar Grilled Cheese

Recently, a new grocery store decided to open in my town with big fan fare. [Update 3/2/14: It has since closed. Very sad.] I knew very little about this particular grocery store so when I was off on opening day, I decided to check it out. Earth Fare, in my opinion, is very similar to Whole Foods, where they promote organic and all natural products. You can see what they are all about in their mission video embedded below.

On opening day, I was treated to multiple free samples, including ice cream from Cincinnati’s own Graeter’s. It was a very pleasant afternoon at the grocery store! And after 90 minutes at the store, browsing every department, I realized again how much I truly love food. And now Earth Fare.

Tillamook Sharp White Cheddar

While I was there, I noticed that they had Tillamook White Cheddar and I thought, why not buy this for another Tillamook grilled cheese sandwich? Sure, it was similar to the other Tillamook cheese I recently purchased, but I was thinking one can never have too much Tillamook in his/her life. Today, I went back to purchase said cheese and made a yummy grilled cheese sandwich.

Tillamook Sharp White Cheddar

The only issue is, when I got home, I noticed what you see above. The cheese was in front of the Sharp White Cheddar display, as far as I can remember, but the label says Medium Cheddar. In my opinion, that is a big difference as I enjoy a a sharper cheddar, one with a little more bite. Regardless of what it was exactly, it was delicious and did have a creamy flavor with a little bit of a bite. I love Tillamook cheese so I am not disappointed by the confusion, just a little curious as to which type of white cheddar I actually purchased.

Rye Bread

This was a quick grilled cheese, something I wanted to create because I hadn’t posted a grilled cheese in a bit and had a few hours to spare. Therefore, the interior of the grilled cheese was not too elaborate or fancy. The bread was fresh rye from the market down the street. I walked around Earth Fare trying to find something different to put inside my grilled cheese but I decided on crushed red peppers. And it was a very good choice. It had the great kick of the peppers and creaminess/bite of the Tillamook White Cheddar.
