St. Patrick’s Day Irish Soda Bread Grilled Cheese

St. Patrick’s Day Irish Soda Bread Grilled Cheese

I don’t want to seem like I have become an employee of Kerrygold, but when they make great cheeses and keep sending you free coupons, you kind of have to keep making creations (aka grilled cheese sandwiches) using their products. And then blog about them.

Butternut Squash & Pumpkin Bread Grilled Cheese

Butternut Squash & Pumpkin Bread Grilled Cheese

I have only created one Thanksgiving grilled cheese sandwich in the three plus years of this blog. I wanted to change that this year. After my 2009 creation, Pumpkin Pie Grilled Cheese, I had a lot to live up to. I had to make this grilled cheese bigger and better. I had to think far outside the box. I had to push myself. I had to include butternut squash. I think I succeeded but you must be the judge… Continue reading Butternut Squash & Pumpkin Bread Grilled Cheese

Three Year Aged Gouda Grilled Cheese

Three Year Aged Gouda Grilled Cheese

I was not planning on cooking a grilled cheese this week as I have a big quiz on Wednesday and needed to study. However, on Saturday at Whole Foods, I noticed that they had a three year aged Gouda on sale for $9.99 lb, originally

Roasted Garlic & Tomato Grilled Cheese

Roasted Garlic & Tomato Grilled Cheese

Recently, I have felt like my grilled cheese sandwiches have been missing something. They have not been as creative or unique as they could be. With this grilled cheese, I tried to turn the tide, even if it doesn’t appear to be that elaborate. As

Delicata Squash Grilled Cheese

Delicata Squash Grilled Cheese

I have not posted a grilled cheese sandwich recipe/entry since August 29, 2010. That adds up to over two months of non-grilled cheese photographing and writing. Amazing, isn’t it? This year, I went with delicata squash. And it turned out pretty well. Continue reading Delicata Squash Grilled Cheese

Pomegranate Reduction Grilled Cheese

Pomegranate Reduction Grilled Cheese

I have been a fan of POM (pomegranate) juice for awhile but only recently began drinking it again. After purchasing a few large bottles of their standard pomegranate juice, and then drinking it, the thought crossed my mind to somehow use said juice in a

Mango Salsa Grilled Cheese

Mango Salsa Grilled Cheese

On another grocery trip, I was walking through Whole Foods when I noticed that fresh mangoes were on sale. I thought to myself, “I like mangoes, I should buy one.” I had no particular use for it in mind, but went ahead and purchased it

Bruschetta Grilled Cheese

Bruschetta Grilled Cheese

Let’s start at the core of this grilled cheese and ask the obvious question: Is bruschetta a grilled cheese? Traditional bruschetta does not typically include cheese and therefore, it would of course, not be considered a grilled cheese sandwich. However, variations do include cheese, such as the one I created. At the very basic, a grilled cheese includes cheese and bread, which bruschetta does as well. Therefore, I say if bruschetta includes cheese (and bread), among other ingredients, it can and should be considered a[n open faced] grilled cheese. Do you agree? Please let me know in the comments. Passover Grilled Cheese

Passover Grilled Cheese

Last year during Passover, I created a charoset grilled cheese sandwich that turned out decently. Charoset is a Passover staple, so this year I wanted to include another important Passover ingredient within my grilled cheese. I ended up including two.
