If you have been paying attention to my Facebook or Twitter pages, you will know that I am on a mission, that I am working to build GrilledShane into a brand. I am working to build GrilledShane into something more than just a hobby, something…
To some, April is simply the fourth month in a very busy year. However, for me, and other grilled cheese lovers, April is a month full of awesomeness. April is National Grilled Cheese Month, a month dedicated to the most amazing sandwich. In the past, I have simply let everyone else do something special. This year, I am not only compiling everything that is being done special for the month but I am also doing something special as well. Read on for all the details…
Over the past few days I have been racking my brain as to what I should do special for National Grilled Cheese Month. I thought I would do some sort of special grilled cheese recipe or, as others have and are doing, cook multiple grilled cheese sandwiches throughout the month. Although, all of those are great choices/ideas, I decided against those and instead decided to go into a different direction. I decided to have YOU, the GrilledShane reader, create the special grilled cheese that I would be cooking for National Grilled Cheese Month. Yes, you. If you are reading this blog, you love grilled cheese as much as I do, so why not have you assist in creating a grilled cheese sandwich?
- Choose one vegetarian ingredient and post it in the comments below.
- One ingredient per comment, per person, please.
- Only one bread choice and up to three cheese choices total.
- All ingredient choices must be posted by April 14, 2013 @ 11:59 PM ET.
- Max number of ingredients will be around 8-12. (Cutoff will depend on chosen ingredients.)
- Sandwich will be created and posted by April 21, 2013.
- If I cannot find a certain ingredient, I will attempt to get the next closest ingredient that I can find.
Essentially, this is a crowd sourced grilled cheese sandwich that you can have a hand in creating. Not only will this grilled cheese sandwich be fun to be a part of, but also an amazing sandwich to eat. Now get thinking and commenting…

Since I started this blog, every year I have created a Passover grilled cheese sandwich. Those sandwiches featured various Passover ingredients, such as hard boiled eggs, horseradish and apples. When I started to think about what ingredients I would use in this Passover grilled cheese,…
I have a story for you, the reader. As everyone already knows, I have an unhealthy obsession of Kerrygold, which has continually been fueled by free coupons sent directly from the cheese maker itself. That obsession only increased in the past week. A week ago Wednesday, I…
I don’t want to seem like I have become an employee of Kerrygold, but when they make great cheeses and keep sending you free coupons, you kind of have to keep making creations (aka grilled cheese sandwiches) using their products. And then blog about them. For the world to see.
Recently, Kerrygold decided to send me, unannounced, “St. Patrick’s Day Party In A Box.” As you can see from the photo above, and here, they sent me ton of awesome St. Patrick’s Day party supplies, an awesome cookbook, as well as more coupons for free Kerrygold cheese. It was their subtle way of saying, “use these coupons to buy Kerrygold cheese, use that cheese to make a kick ass St. Patrick’s Day grilled cheese and then blog about it.”
Challenge. Accepted. With Irish Soda Bread. Continue reading St. Patrick’s Day Irish Soda Bread Grilled Cheese
It has been awhile since I have posted a new grilledshane creation and I apologize for that. This here is just a quick grilled cheese to hold you over until my grand St. Patrick’s Day grilled cheese, courtesy of the awesome people at Kerrygold cheese.…
My “Grilled Cheese” Google Alerts have been piling up in my inbox and open tabs in my browser. I was saving the great grilled cheese sandwiches from around the web yet I had no time to post them. That time has come now, and it seems that the theme is onion. For some reason, everyone loves putting caramelized onions in their grilled cheese. I can’t complain, they all look great! Plus, there is a grilled cheese made completely out of cheese, nothing wrong with that! Anyway, on to the sandwiches…
In the past month or so, SheKnows has really been cranking out some great grilled cheese recipes. I feature one here, which is a little late considering it was for the Super Bowl, but it still looks delicious. I have always been a fan of spinach artichoke dip, even if it has become a staple of chain restaurant’s appetizer menus.
Other great recipes include Bacon Mac & Cheese, Brie, Blueberry & Balsamic, Jalapeno Popper, and Ultimate Nacho Grilled Cheese. I would definitely check SheKnows out if you are in mood for a great grilled cheese.
Pickles are a delicious ingredient that I clearly don’t use enough in my cooking. Add it to a Brie grilled cheese and you have yourself a great combination.
I love avocado. It is really as simple as that. You should feel the same way.
…and now begins the Onion portion of the show…
Yum. Look at that golden brown bread…
Even though Jen writes about my competition, I think I can still be impressed by her grilled cheese. Haha.
Spinach is healthy…so that makes this grilled cheese healthy, right?
Apple or onion are your choices for these grilled cheese sandwichs, but the recommendation is onion.
Although 100% unhealthy, this grilled cheese looks 100% delicious. I haven’t done much with bread cheese before, but after seeing this grilled cheese, it looks like I should go ahead and buy some bread cheese now.
With more Kerrygold coupons burning a hole in my pocket, and my discovery of Kerrygold Cashel Blue cheese, I thought it was time to make one more Kerrygold grilled cheese creation. With the sous chef and myself recently purchasing two different kinds of quiche, I…
